This fundraiser is for Silvia Holguin. She has been a family friend for over 15yrs. She lives in Rosarito, Mexico. Before COVID, she would travel to the US every week and clean houses to support her family.
She's a single parent of three, and sadly her only daughter, Karla passed away right after the new year. It's suspected that Karla was killed. The details are unclear at the moment, but as a parent the heartbreak Silvia is feeling has to be unimaginable.
Anyone that knows Silvia can tell you she's funny, hardworking and an amazing cook. When my own mother was dying from cancer, Silvia was there helping to care for her in her last days of life.
Silvia has given so much to so many of us, that we need to give back in her time of need.
She would never ask anyone for help. That's just not who she is. Which is why I'm asking, please give what you can.

Todos sabemos que Silvia es bien divertida, trabajadora y una cocinera increíble. También sabemos que es una madre que ha estado limpiando casas para mantener a sus tres hijos. Lamentablemente, su única hija, Karla, acaba de fallecer después de Año Nuevo.
Silvia nos ha ayudado en muchas de nuestras celebraciones familiares y ha limpiado todas nuestras casas a lo largo de los años. Incluso estuvo allí para ayudar a mi mamá en sus últimos días de vida. Creo que es nuestro turno de ayudarla en este momento de necesidad.
