Hi everyone, my name is Aurelia Hankin, and I’m reaching out to share the story of my dear friend Maryann Snyder and her incredibly brave daughter, Anna.
A Journey of Strength
Since the day Anna was born with a clubbed foot, a missing fibula, a short tibia and hip dysplasia, Maryann has been a tireless advocate for her child. She has navigated a whirlwind of specialist visits, casting, bracing and treatments with a level of grace that truly defines what it means to be a "strong mama."
Despite their first doctors opinion they were able to save her heal pad with a specific amputation to help with weight bearing called a Boyd amputation. While this surgery was a necessary step toward a life without pain, it has opened up a new chapter of challenges.
The road to recovery is long. Their days are now filled with:
• Frequent Specialist Travel: Constant trips to Tampa Florida for orthopedic care.
• Prosthetic Consultations: Preparing for the future of Anna’s mobility.
• Home Care Costs: Specialized medical supplies and equipment to keep her comfortable and safe.
How You Can Help
Between the rising cost of travel and the mounting medical bills not covered by insurance or the Shriners, the financial strain has become overwhelming. We want to lift this burden so Maryann can focus entirely on Anna’s healing and developmental milestones.
Your support will go directly toward:
• Any extra needs such as special shoes, fabric for customization of prosthetic, ect.
• Fuel, lodging, and travel expenses for out-of-town appointments.
• Future prosthetic fittings to ensure Anna can one day run and play.
Even if you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page with your community. Every prayer, every share, and every dollar helps this beautiful family breathe a little easier during this difficult season.
Thank you for being part of Anna’s village.
