After celebrating two years of hard-won sobriety and building a stable life, my world turned upside down when my fiancée was tragically killed in a car accident. Shortly after facing that devastating death I lost my job as well. Though I managed to fight through the fog and secure new employment in just one week, the heavy toll of losing my fiancée and navigating everything that happened during those couple of months threw my life into a complete blur. In the midst of the pain and chaos, I didn’t realize how far behind I had gotten in rent until my landlord let me know what was going on.
Because my roommate also experienced a shortfall during this time, we are now facing the immediate reality of losing our home. Out urgent need to secure our housing is $1,400. My landlord is incredibly willing to work with me and has promised that if I can come up with this balance to catch up, she will allow me to stay and secure my place while getting back on track.
I am going to be able to put a chunk of this price in myself when I get paid this following Friday, but I won’t be able to pay most of it and won’t get paid again until the 10th and the mortgage and everything is due no later than the 5th of July.
I am doing all the heavy lifting to keep my life together, but I cannot do this alone. Your donation is a lifeline that ensures a sudden sequence of hardships doesn’t undo years of hard work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any of the help you can give.
