Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
We are reaching out with a fundraising page to assist a special family, Shelby & Matt Hicks and their beautiful daughter Emma. Their daughter, Emma, was born with Jacobsen Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects multiple systems in the body and requires around-the-clock care.
Despite the challenges she faces daily, Emma is a bright light — full of courage, sweetness, and strength beyond her years. Her parents have devoted their lives to giving her the care she needs: countless medical appointments, therapies, medications, specialized equipment, and most importantly, their constant love and presence.
Caring for a child with complex medical needs like Emma's isn’t just emotionally and physically demanding — it’s financially overwhelming. The family’s out-of-pocket expenses have continued to grow, and they need support to help cover expenses that have become harder to manage due to the time commitment Emma’s condition requires. Other than assisting with day to day essentials for Emma, funds will also be going towards items such as a handicap accessible vehicle and handicap bathroom conversion.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help ease the burden and allow them to focus on what matters most: Emma’s care and well-being.
If you’re unable to give financially, you can still help by sharing this with your friends and family. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean the world.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for standing with Emma and her family. Your generosity is a lifeline and a reminder that they are not alone.
With deep gratitude,
Karen Marshall, Kathy Baker, & Shelly Piecuch
