On may 12th 2021 I lost my son Case to SIDS. He was a perfectly healthy baby baby boy born 7 pounds 2 ounces at 37 weeks, who came from parents who don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs, we practice safe sleep, and yet he still lost his life to SIDS.
The day after Case passed my best friend called and said “hey I purchased an Owlet sock for Chase( Case’s twin brother) it will be there today.” It arrived and we set it up and put it on Chase. That very first night we used it we received a low Oxygen alarm. I immediately pulled Chase from his bassinet and he was completely unresponsive and not breathing. Now fortunately, I was able to arouse him and he started breathing again on his own but had I not had the Owlet and been alerted to the fact that he was not breathing, I would have lost both of my boys in less than 48 hours from each other! The Owlet saved my son’s life!
This was a sign from God that this was his plan for Case all along, and so I founded the Just in Case Foundation. We educate parents on what SIDS is, the risk factors of SIDS, and how to reduce those risk factors. We teach safe sleep practices, teach/certify parents in CPR, and provide parents with an Owlet Dream sock for their infant(s) after the completion of this educational course.
I learned the hard way, that being loving parents that do everything right including practicing safe sleep, is not enough to protect our children. The Owlet is the perfect tool to use in addition to safe sleep practices to reduce your child’s risks for SIDS! We are happy to announce that we have given 636 socks across the country since starting the Just In Case Foundation just 2 years ago.
Will you help the Just in Case Foundation on our fight against SIDS?
Please donate today to take part in changing the world and saving lives!
