My name is Sarah & I am making this for my cousins Jessica and Rain,
Last night on their way home, Rain and Jessica were struck by a vehicle that was speeding around a corner with no headlights on as they were making a left hand turn onto the road.
Her cars entire front half is ripped off, engine parts scattered across the intersection, and her entire electric system failed- power locks not working, windows unable to be rolled down, etc. with the damage to the front of the car they couldn’t open the front doors and the back doors were locked from the inside while her car filled with smoke and tried to catch fire. They were trapped until emergency service arrived & were able to pry them out.
Thankfully all parties walked away without life threatening injuries, however both Rain and Jessica have concussions and Jessica has a blunt trauma injury to her upper spine and until late this morning had very limited mobility in the right side of her body. Thankfully did not suffer from full or long term paralysis but will have a long medical and legal road ahead of her.
The airbags did not deploy, and the other driver is hell bent on refusing fault since Jessica had a stop sign, despite the fact they were speeding and their headlights were off.
I'm creating this in hopes of getting donations for them for the long road ahead; legal counsel & fees, general help with finanaces, medical bills, the cost of paying off the loan for this vehicle so Jessica is even able to purchase another vehicle once she's able, any and all help is so greatly appreciated. Jessica & Rain are the nicest people always going above and beyond this is the last thing they should be dealing with right now.
