I would like to share with you a great opportunity that God has brought my way for this summer. I will be serving through the Chicago Eagles Summer Academy. The Eagles are the Midwest division of Missionary Athletes International (MAl), a non-profit, interdenominational sports ministry. The goal of the Chicago Eagles is to share the gospel through the environment of soccer. They are also committed to training athletes, like me, in the discipline of sports ministry to live out my faith both on and off the field. Throughout the summer, I will have the chance to share my faith through camp outreach and clinic ministries in both Chicago and in cities of Brazil. By the end of the summer, I will be better equipped with tools for ministry back on my college campus.
Currently, at Covenant College, I am enjoying my spring semester of business studies and campus life. I finished my second season of soccer last fall, and I am loving it! I've also gotten plugged into a church, Rock Creek Fellowship, and I have been able to attend a small group, Bible study, and some of the women’s events. Additionally, I was elected as Carter Hall President for the next year! This semester has been such a blessing, and I am so thankful.
Furthermore, I have loved the international mission trips I’ve participated in while in high school. My time serving has been so valuable in my walk with God and has truly shaped who I am today. When I discovered that the Chicago Eagles also offered an opportunity to grow in my faith, minister to others, and play soccer competitively, the chance seemed too good to pass up. I am also grateful to play in a summer program that will help advance my skills as a collegiate soccer athlete. I trust the Lord will use these upcoming weeks in the Chicago Eagles Summer Academy to allow me to share the gospel with the children who participate in the program in both Chicago and Brazil.
