Recently, the Agape Food Rescue truck was in an accident and has heavily impacted this organizations ability to continue to feed the community. Agape has been commited to feeding the larger community, and we need your help! Mission Statement
Our mission is to instill hope with programs of dignity to the East New York and Brownsville residents one of NYC most food insecure areas by providing residents in need with programs that provide food, promote the value of nutrition, increase self-sufficiency, and positive direction. In doing so, Agape Food Rescue with the help of dedicated volunteers ensure that food relief has a more meaningful, enduring impact beyond a generation.
About This Cause
Agape Food Rescue is a volunteer-powered, grassroots non-profit that organizes direct action projects such as
*Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative -
an outreach for seniors and homebound ENYresidents
*The Breaking Bread project a mobile pantry service for NYCHA
*Community Fridges - serving day to day food insercurity.
Our pride and joy is our Client Choice Panty which allows clients to select their own food instead of receiving a pre-packed or standard bag of groceries. With this method, clients do not have to take items they already have, do not like, or cannot eat for health or personal reasons.
In addition we at Agape Food Rescue successfully run a mobile soup kitchen, which delivers hot meals "grab and go" style, 6 days a week at multiple subway stations serving our homeless brothers and sisters with dignity which is organized by our "Veterans Shining Bright Team" Veterans that were or are homeless themselves giving back to the community delicious meals with love.
