For those of you who don't know us my name is Kathryn Woodruff I am an early elementary Special Education school teacher from Wilburton Ok. My husband Adam Woodruff is the elected Sheriff of Latimer County Oklahoma. We have 3 amazing children Jayden, A.j. and Katelyn. Our children are our lives, we live in an amazing community and always try to help anyone we can.

On Sunday around noon Adam and i found Katelyn unresponsive and barely breathing, we called 911 and Assistant Chief John Ford and Deputy Patrick Sanders where the first to respond. They helped load Katelyn on the ambulance and Pafford took her to the McAlester Emergency room. Her blood sugar was over 600 and she was very dehydrated. She was suffering from DKA.

McAlester got her stable enough to fly to St. Francis Children's hospital in Tulsa. She was still unresponsive and in bad shape. We thought she was getting better but her little heart couldn't handle the strain and her heart stopped twice yesterday. By prayer she was revived but she still clings to life.

For the past 18 hours she has been on support where machines does the work for her so she can get the strength to fight. Her numbers are better this morning but she still is fighting for life. Katelyn is the strongest sweetest little girl in this world but she needs your prayers. We are in room 118 in the PICU at St Francis Children's Hospital in Tulsa. We will not leave our baby's side until God heals her and we leave this place. Any amount will help but mostly we need your prayers.

Katelyn Update 04-14-26

Katelyn continues to fight with so much strength and determination as she works to regain what was lost during her medically induced coma of over 40 days. We are so proud of her resilience. Each day, she shows up and gives her all in physical and occupational therapy, even when it’s hard.

The doctors are still working to stabilize her blood sugar as they carefully reintroduce feeds, and we appreciate the wisdom guiding her care. While Katelyn has made significant improvements, we know there is still a long road ahead in her recovery.

We continue to trust God in every step of this journey. We’ve seen His hand in the progress she’s made, and we believe He will continue to carry her through the days to come. We are so grateful for every prayer, every message, and every bit of support—it truly means more than we can put into words.

Please continue to lift Katelyn up in prayer—for strength, healing, and steady progress. 💛

Katelyn Update 03-29-26

Today has been a hard day for Katelyn. As she is becoming more awake and alert, she gets upset about where she is. She really doesn't understand how sick she became and she is not really aware of everything she has had to go through. Even though she didnt want to sit on the edge of the bed, she did it. While she cant really talk yet, she has let us know that she wants to go home and she misses her friends and being at home. I wish I could take all of this away from her and make things better for her. I know that everyday she gets stronger and she is working hard but it is hard to see your child in pain and being scared and not being able to do anything about it. I trust in God to keep his healing hands on her. I have faith that God will continue to work miracles in her body and will continue to move mountains for her. I just hate seeing her look scared and upset.

Prayer Request for Katelyn:

We are asking for continued prayers for our sweet Katelyn. She has experienced a minor setback today, as her lungs and body are working hard to fight off an infection. She has had some fevers the past few days and her doctors are trying to determine exactly where the infection is coming from so they can treat it more specifically.

In an effort to support her blood pressure, Katelyn was given additional fluids, but her kidneys are having difficulty keeping up, leading to extra fluid around her lungs. The medical team is watching this very closely and have given her medications to help her kidneys remove the excess fluid. They are also discussing the possibility of placing a more permanent dialysis catheter to better support her body during this time.

While this is a setback, we know that Katelyn is strong and continues to fight with everything she has. We are praying for healing over her lungs, strength for her kidneys, and clear answers for her doctors as they work to identify and treat this infection.

God has carried her through so much already, and we continue to trust in Him. We believe He is still working through every detail of her care. We have been so grateful for the continuous prayers and support we have received during this difficult journey. We know that we continue to ask for prayers and we are very fortunate to have such an amazing community praying for our sweet girl. It truly means more than we can put into words.

Katelyn Update 03-19-26

We are so grateful to share a hopeful update on Katelyn today. God continues to show His faithfulness in every small step forward.

They are slowly weaning her off the sedation medications, and we are seeing more of her personality come through. She is moving around more, opening her eyes, and this morning we even think she gave us a little smile — such a precious gift that filled our hearts with joy.

She underwent an MRI, and we are incredibly thankful to report that it showed no signs of oxygen deprivation to her brain and no evidence of stroke. What an answered prayer!

The team has also been able to sit her up in bed, and her lungs continue to improve each day. Her coughs are getting stronger, which is such an important step in her healing.

Katelyn truly is our little warrior, and we know God is holding her every step of the way. We continue to trust in His perfect plan and ask for your continued prayers as she keeps fighting and healing.

Thank you all for surrounding us with love, prayers, and support. We feel it every single day. 💛

Katelyn Update 03-09-26

Today has been another important step in Katelyn’s journey, and we wanted to share an update with our family, friends, and everyone who has been lifting her up in prayer.

This morning Katelyn successfully underwent surgery to place her trach tube. We are incredibly grateful that the procedure went well with no complications. This will allow doctors to slowly reduce the sedation medications, and when the time is right, start the process of waking her up and helping her become more mobile as her lungs continue to heal.

Katelyn is still facing several serious medical challenges. Her lungs are continuing to recover from being hit hard and the different pneumonia, and she remains on substantial breathing support while they heal. Her kidneys have continued to be under significant stress and doctors last night decided to put her back on dialysis. This is a temporary setback but it was needed to help her remove toxins from her body and maintain a good fluid balance.

While this all sounds overwhelming, we continue to see God moving in the small victories along the way. The successful trach surgery today is another important step that will help Katelyn’s body rest and recover while her medical team continues their work.

We know the road ahead is still long, but we firmly believe that God is walking every step of this journey with Katelyn. We continue to place her in His Hands and trust in His Strength, healing, and perfect timing.

We are so incredibly grateful for the continuous prayers, thoughts, and support for Katelyn and our family during this time. It has truly meant everything to us, and we feel those prayers surrounding us every single day. Please continue to pray for healing for Katelyn’s lungs, kidneys, and body as a whole. Also, please continue to pray for Jayden and AJ because they have been struggling with their sister being in the hospital. Thank you for standing with us and believing in miracles alongside our family..
