My entire life, I have felt out of place. Growing up I didn't have the knowledge or vocabulary to describe my discomfort in my own skin. I never understood why I felt alienated from girls, why I felt 'other,' why I felt discomfortable in my body-until I left home and moved out of state for a better living situation that was good for my mental health. That's when I met other queer people and it was as though I was looking at where I wanted to be. It was because of the people that I've met along the way that I began to explore and research new pronouns, new names, and new means of presenting myself in the way I felt most comfortable. With the help and love of close friends who supported me I bought my first binder and it changed the way I saw myself. For the first time I felt as though I could look in the mirror and see a me I was more comfortable with, a me I felt more at home in. Ever since I have been doing more research into what I could to to make this a more permanent way of seeing myself. My current chest does not feel as if it's my own, every day it feels to be more and more urgent that I do something about it. The only thing that is currently stopping me from getting to the point where I am happy in my own body is my financial situation. I'm currently working two jobs and I am going to start school in the fall of 2021. Anything that you are willing to donate is greatly appreciated and is going to make me comfortable in my own skin. ❤️
