I love animals and especially dogs! This past year, I have worked very hard to have a dog park opened in my town, Armonk, NY. I researched local dog parks, prepared a proposal and presented multiple times to our town board. I was even featured in our local newspaper with our cavapoo, Lily. Recently, the board approved the dog park and I hope it opens in the next few months.
My bat mitzvah is March 8, 2025. For my mitzvah project, I wanted to do something special for our local animals. Rabbi Disick of Congregation B'nai Yisrael in Armonk has agreed to help me with a special service and official blessing of the animals.
We will have this event on Sunday, February 2nd at 10:30am. If you can join us, please do! We will have raffles, homemade animal treats and your animal will go home with an official certificate of Jewish blessing. We will also have a memorial for those animals no longer in our lives. I will be saying a special prayer for my beloved yorkie, Lucy. All money raised at the temple event will be donated to the local animal shelter.
If you do not live local or are unable to join us at the event, that's okay. You can still donate directly here.
Thank you for your support of my project and for our furry friends.
Love, Juliet Meyer
