When I was in Denver last month I met a sweet mom who could use a hand up getting her & her family into an apartment. Yasmyn was staying at the Radisson in Denver (where I was also staying) with all of her things, her boyfriends things and their children’s things in her boyfriends truck because they were supposed to move into a new apartment that day.
The truck was stolen leaving Yasmyn and her family with only the clothes on their back. Yasmyn is pregnant, due in September and has a blended family with her boyfriend Misheck.
As you probably know mortality rates for Black mothers are high and Yasmyn has already beaten the odds. My goal is to fundraise what they need to get them in an apartment and anything over will go to replacing everything they lost and getting furniture and supplies so they can relax and settle in.
Yasmyn loves to bake and is looking forward to bonding with her new baby and starting to rebuild a safe and happyhome for her and her family.
