March 2023 I went roller skating with my son and I fell pretty hard, I had no idea that fall dislodged a kidney stone creating a blockage in my kidney. Fast forward a few months to August, I was still trying to work and my body was just not having it. I left work early a few times and had to cancel a couple days of work because I was just so nauseous and my shoulder joints were in so much pain I thought I had a pretty severe injury from falling. Work became very taxing on my body and I was exhausted from half of my work load. My boss and I decided to cut my schedule in half because I wasn't sure how long my "injury" would take to heal. By the end of August I passed the kidney stone and went to work the next day, although I couldn't finish the day. I listened to my boss' advice and went to the ER , they gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. The next 48 hours after that were terrible, I was confused and freezing (in the summer in Florida!) I finally went back to different ER because I was declining so quickly. By the time I got to the triage my blood pressure was 80/50 and my temperature was over 100 . I was so confused that I had no idea how bad I actually was. I had a severe kidney infection and I was in the beginning stages of sepsis. The ER doctor immediately admitted me and I spent the next 4 days on heavy IV antibiotics and fluids and pain meds, I was in excruciating pain. Then the next 14 days after being released on oral antibiotics. My hospital bills for that stay were well over 50k. Some were taken care of by the charity program through the hospital but I still have about $10k left to pay. Two days after I was released from the hospital my car broke down and a transmission replacement costs $4600. Between missing work and cutting my schedule, and borrowing cars I now cannot afford to pay my rent which is $1585 and $300 to get my electricity restored. I'm a very hard working person and I'm regaining my strength but I'm still not working a full schedule because it was given to another therapist. I just need to keep my home so I can try to regain my independence.
Anything helps and I would be so grateful for any sort of help even just a share. Peace and love. Christine 💙
