Hey y'all hey!!! My name is Curshonda Bowdery and I go by Shonda. I am a 33 year old single, disabled mother who is raising funds to support my heart transplant decision. I have congestive heart failure and I have been through a lot of changes already. I'm currently using a LVAD(left vertical artificial device) and an outer body defibrillator. Yup! Sounds like a lot but if you want to live you will do what it takes. I take care of my son who is disabled with MID and my grandmother who also has CHF and is disabled as well.
We are currently homeless, in a hotel and trying to sort this news out as it comes to us!
I ended up getting MRSA( MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) can cause bloodstream infections (bacteremia) and lead to serious complications like sepsis and endocarditis. While MRSA most commonly causes skin infections, it can spread to the bloodstream, causing infections in other parts of the body. MRSA bloodstream infections are particularly concerning due to their potential severity and resistance to certain antibiotics) early part of 2025 l, which was my birthday, March 16th. Now, I never know the outcome sometimes so I just go with the flow. I am currently taking 2 different antibiotics. One is every 24 hours and the other one is every 8 hours. We stay in a hotel, so yup! The fridge isn't that big. So I am going to raise money to get me and my family stable again. Before this life changing surgery takes place!
We are looking for a few things to help us get organized and get me prepared for this life changing surgery.
Things needed:
A place to stay
A car
Clothes(for all of us)
Medical equipment & supplies
Beds & Linen
Medicines
Help with dressing changes
And whatever else comes with this process.
I have a few appointments coming up and I'm trying to raise as much as I can while making funds to do the same to do my part. I know God will provide and step in. And I'm keeping faith.
So please share my story and help me get the heart I deserve. I need to be here to take care of my son and grandmother. We are all we have!
Thank you!!
