First, we have some amazing news to share! We finally have health insurance! HALLELUJAH, PRAISE THE LORD! ππ» God has been so faithful through every obstacle we have faced, and we are so thankful to finally be moving forward with treatment.
Hue is scheduled to have his port placed on Monday, November 2nd! We still donβt have an official start date for chemotherapy, but once his port is placed and a few additional tests are completed, we will finally be able to begin this next part of his journey.
As many of you know, Hue is battling Stage 3B testicular cancer that has spread to his abdominal lymph nodes and both lungs. The cancer has already taken a toll on his body. He has been living in pain for weeks now and has developed a persistent cough with phlegm. Watching someone you love hurt every single day, knowing there is nothing you can personally do to take that pain away, is heartbreaking.
His chemotherapy regimen will consist of four cycles over approximately four months.Because of how his treatments are scheduled, we already know he will miss at least half of every month of work, which means losing an entire paycheck each month for the next four months. And thatβs just what we know for certain. We have no idea how his body will respond to chemotherapy or whether he will physically be able to work on the days he isnβt receiving treatment. Not to mention we have deductibles that we will have to meet TWICE out of pocket before insurance will even kick in.
As a family with a little girl at home and Hue being our provider, the financial uncertainty is overwhelming. We are trying our best to prepare for what is ahead while trusting that God will continue to provide.
Asking for help is not something we enjoy doing. In fact, I had planned to wait until we had an official chemotherapy start date before sharing this fundraiser. But knowing how quickly everything will begin moving next week, I felt it was time to go ahead and share our story.
When Hue had his surgery, we were absolutely blown away by the love poured into our family. Friends, family, complete strangers, and even friends who own small businesses stepped up to support us in ways we could have never imagined. God has shown us time and time again that we have an entire army of people standing beside us.
And that support goes so much further than financial help. Itβs the people who have offered to help with Emma, bring meals during treatment weeks, pray over our family, and simply be there when everything feels too overwhelming to carry on our own. Those things mean more to us than words could ever express.
The funds raised will help us cover our household expenses, replace a portion of Hueβs lost income, and take some of the financial burden off our family while he focuses on fighting this cancer and healing.
We know that not everyone is in a position to give financially, and please know that your prayers mean just as much to us. We believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, and we are trusting the Lord to carry us through every single step of this journey.
We are praying for complete healing, for Hueβs body to respond well to treatment, and for the day we get to stand on the other side of this and share the testimony of everything God has done.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving our family, praying for Hue, and helping us carry the weight of this season. We will never forget the kindness that has been shown to us.
With so much love and thankfulness,
Hue, Jodilyn, & Emma π
