My name is Hmood Houssam Abu Sitta, and I am writing with a heavy heart to ask for your support. For the past two years I have tried on my own to raise funds to help my family survive, but the daily struggle has become overwhelming and urgent.
My family is in Gaza, where we have lost everything due to the ongoing war. We live each day under the threat of hunger, displacement, and lack of medicine. My father passed away at the beginning of 2024 due to lack of food and treatment available. My mother, Wedad Dahshan Abu Sitta, is a stroke patient who desperately needs care. My niece Layan, only 11 years old, suffers from cardiac muscle atrophy and cannot receive the treatment she needs here.
Every single day, I do everything I can to gather enough funds so my family can buy food, water, firewood, and charge our phones just to stay connected. But our situation is dire, and I cannot keep up alone.
Right now, our most urgent need is to raise $600 to hire a lawyer in Canada who can help prepare my mother and one other family member for safe passage to Canada if evacuation becomes possible. This is the first step toward giving my family a chance at survival, stability, and dignity.
Until that day comes, we still need your help to survive the daily reality of hunger and displacement. Every dollar makes a difference.
My family includes my mother, my brothers, sisters, and their children. Each of their lives matters. Each of them deserves a chance at safety and healing.
