After being forced to flee a domestic violence situation, my child and I are now homeless, a circumstance that has arisen from my efforts to safeguard our well-being. The necessity to leave behind stability, support systems, and virtually all our belongings was not taken lightly, but the alternative was untenable. Choosing safety has meant embarking on an overwhelming journey of starting anew. At present, my priority is ensuring our basic needs are fulfilled, including safety, nutrition, and preserving our family unit. The reality, however, is that every day poses significant challenges in securing housing, provisioning for my children, and sustaining our livelihood. Given these circumstances, I am reaching out in the hope of securing assistance that would enable us to obtain safe housing, adequate food, basic necessities, reliable transportation, and cover any unforeseen expenses, thereby providing my child and me with a semblance of stability.
