Support a Dedicated Helper’s Journey to Smile Again – Urgent Dental Care Needed

After years of dedicating my life to helping others, I’m now the one who needs a hand up.

For over 10 years, I’ve worked with people struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, eating disorders, homelessness, and suicidal thoughts. I build bridges between those in crisis and the resources that can save lives—because I’ve been there myself. When I hit rock bottom with my own suicide attempt, mental health struggles, and addiction, someone showed up with help and hope. That experience changed everything. It taught me that one act of kindness can pull someone back from the edge, and I’ve made it my mission to be that person for others.

Recently, my world shattered. In a short time, I lost the love of my life—the mother of my son—along with my job and the only real home I’ve ever known. Everything that gave me stability and purpose was taken away. Now, I’m DoorDashing just to survive day to day, trying to hold it together for my son while grieving and rebuilding from nothing.

One of the hardest parts is something many people might not see: my broken teeth. They cause constant pain and make it impossible for me to smile without shame or discomfort. A simple smile used to be a small way I connected with the people I help—offering warmth and hope in tough moments. Right now, even attempting one fills me with embarrassment, holding me back personally and professionally as I try to get back on my feet.

A dentist has quoted $2,000 to fix two top teeth. This would relieve the pain, allow me to eat more comfortably, and start me on the path to a smile I’m no longer afraid to share. It’s not a full mouth restoration—just the beginning of regaining confidence so I can continue helping others and rebuilding my life for my son.

I’m reaching out because I’ve always believed in the power of community and reciprocity. If you’ve ever been helped when you needed it most, or if you simply want to support someone who’s spent years paying that forward, any contribution—no matter how small—would mean the world. Every dollar goes directly toward the dental work.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story. Please consider donating what you can and sharing this with others. Together, we can help one more person—who has helped so many—find their smile again.

With deep gratitude,

James
