Welcome to the JDJ32 College Scholarship Fundraiser. It has been 13 heartbreaking years since our beloved, son, brother, grandson, uncle, friend, and cousin Joshua Ja'Cor Davis-Joiner has passed away. This year, we would like to honor Josh by giving back to our community in Milwaukee. Our goal is to bless some of our underprivileged students in Milwaukee that are either headed to a 2-year program or a 4-year university.
Josh passed away at the tender age of 17 years old, a senior at Grafton High School on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We came home from a Marquette vs Louisville basketball game, then Josh dropped his little sister off at practice, and afterward headed to his basketball practice at 7pm. I, his mom, received a call from his coach at 7:13pm saying Joshed collapsed under the net after shooting a basket, and he became unresponsive. The ambulance took him over so that the ER team could work on him more.
My family and our small community packed the hospital praying and hoping, however God had another plan for Josh on 1/16/2012, when he passed away.
#32 was his favorite number and his Jersey number - which he had countless reasons. Ultimately, this is how we formed the name of his scholarship fundraiser - JDJ32.
