Hi, my name is Bashar Rouk, a 21-year-old student from Gaza studying Artificial Intelligence, and I am organizing this fundraiser directly to share my journey and ask for your support. As a student from Gaza, my life has been profoundly affected by the ongoing conflict. I have endured displacement, hardship, and the daily struggles that so many families here continue to face.
Despite all these challenges, I have refused to give up on my education. I am currently studying Artificial Intelligence in Gaza, and through hard work and determination, I have secured official acceptance to pursue my bachelor’s degree at a university in Italy. This opportunity represents a lifeline—a chance to continue my higher education in a safe environment and build a stable future.
However, to turn this admission into a reality, I must meet the strict official legal requirements set by the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem to obtain a Study Visa. The Consulate mandatorily requires proof of financial means amounting to €10,179.85 per academic year, plus an estimated €500 for repatriation/travel costs (totaling approximately €11,000).
Without demonstrating these required funds in a bank account, my study visa cannot be issued, and I will lose this once-in-a-lifetime academic opportunity. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly help me fulfill these official consular criteria and allow me to travel to Italy to start my studies.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and standing by me.
BASHAR’S STORY
Growing up in Gaza, I have always believed that education is the most powerful tool to build a better future and make a positive impact. Like many young people, I dreamed of completing my university education, achieving my potential, and building a meaningful career in Artificial Intelligence.
When the conflict erupted, our lives were turned upside down. I faced uncertainty, displacement, and the severe realities of living through war. Yet, even in the darkest moments, I held onto my dream of finishing my degree and continuing my education.
After months of persistence, I received official validation for my pre-enrolment at a recognized university in Italy. This offer is far more than an academic achievement—it is my doorway to safety, stability, and a future built on hope rather than hardship.
Unfortunately, securing university acceptance is only the first step. To legally enter Italy and register as a student, I must fulfill the mandatory financial guarantee required by the Italian Consulate. Having lost so much during the war, my family and I cannot provide this required amount on our own.
WHY AM I ORGANISING THIS FUNDRAISER?
I manage this campaign myself to communicate directly with sympathetic supporters around the world because this is the only and direct way to reach the goal required by the consulate.
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED?
To ensure full clarity, every euro raised will go directly toward meeting the official financial criteria stated in the Consulate General of Italy’s visa checklist:
Consular Financial Requirement (€10,179.85): The mandatory minimum personal financial resources required by the Italian Consulate General in Jerusalem for issuing a 1-year study visa.
Repatriation & Travel Costs (€500+): The mandatory estimated travel/flight allowance required by the Consulate to guarantee return travel capability.
(Total Target: €11,000 to cover the core financial guarantee and associated transaction/processing fees).
If the campaign exceeds the minimum required threshold, any remaining funds will be strictly dedicated to essential student setup costs in Italy, such as mandatory residence permit fees, health insurance, study materials, and initial living expenses.
TRANSPARENCY & DOCUMENTATION
To maintain complete transparency with all supporters:
I will share updates on every step of my visa application process.
I will provide documentation confirming my university validation, consular submissions, and official bank statement proofs showing that the funds are reserved strictly for my visa approval and education.
The war has taken so much from us, but it cannot take away our determination to learn.
Your support is not just a donation—it is an investment in my future and my safety.
Together, we can turn this official acceptance into a reality.
Thank you for your generosity!
Bashar Rock 🇵🇸❤️
