The landlord Neva was renting from decided to rent to their family and gave her 60 days notice to move. In the process of her moving out, her girls were doing a dance routine and wanted to video it. Addison, who is 10 was piggy backing on her sister, Phalicity‘s, back. Phalicity bent over too far and Addison flew over her head and hit her neck and seemed fine at first and then about four days later she started having problems breathing and was taken to urgent care, urgent care couldn’t find anything wrong so she was taken to her cardiologist the next day and she collapsed in the cardiologist office. She was rushed to an emergency room where they accused Neva of having munch houser biproxy and couldn’t find anything wrong and sent us home. Addison got worse and then she got worse. Neva was scared to go back to the hospital due to the accusations and chose to take her to the hospital the she worked at prior to being laid off due to lack of work after COVID, they couldn’t find anything wrong but could tell that something was wrong since Her chest was dipping in, She was struggling to breathe, She was wheezing really bad. She was transported to Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, an ENT Surgeon went to go scope her and they gave her some Ativan to which she went into cardiac arrest, she had to be rushed to emergency surgery because her airway was a size of a coffee stir stick (the little thin ones). Neva was told that if she had waited one more day, she would not have woke up, she was literally suffocating to death. They had to reconstruct her throat and cut out the scar tissue, and that grew at a rapid rate due to her screaming through it, and the damage that was done to the vocal cords. Addison was on a ventilator until yesterday (26Aug23) and she has a feeding tube and her vocal cords are so severely damaged that the vocal cords don’t shut properly to which is what closes your airway to keep you from aspirating when you eat or drink so she cannot eat. She will probably be in the hospital for about another week. During this time, someone has to be in the hospital with her as she can’t be by herself because she’s ripping cords and tubes out.
Neva is a hard working, stressed out, single momma and needs some family and community help! Phalicity is in school and luckily there are some people able to assist with taking care of her but Neva is unable to work unless someone is at the hospital with Addison. She makes up for extra cash by driving Uber but obviously that isn’t happening right now either. If you are able to assist…..please do!
