INDIE’S STORY
We adopted Indie when he was 8 weeks old from Trooper’s Treasures in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ever since then, he has been my best bud and unfortunately he needs our help.
At just 5 years old, Indie experienced a herniated disc. His symptoms began on Monday, May 28th and he quickly deteriorated. By Tuesday, May 29th he had loss all feeling in his hind legs and tail and was unable to go to the bathroom. After 4 total emergency vet visits (2 on Monday, another 2 on Tuesday) we were told he would need surgery if we wanted any chance of him feeling better. Unfortunately, he only has about a 10% chance of ever having use of his hind legs again. We have already paid about $3,000 for what has been done so far but our total will be closer to $7,000. (This is just to cover his surgery, MRI, and hospital stay). We will also be needing to start rehab/physical therapy and investing in a wheelchair for our boy.
While we know the road ahead is long, we are confident that Indie will adjust to his new life and be just as happy as he ever was. If you are able to help at all, we would be forever grateful. Give your pets a big hug today if they like that. 🖤
Indie is about 2 weeks out from his appointment where we will find out if he is good to start moving around on his own again! We are so excited to get him moving again and we can tell he is ready too. We were lucky enough to have a wheel chair donated to us so we will only need to replace a few pieces to have it fit him correctly! We are beyond thankful to everyone who has helped us and sent their love and support 🫶🏻 
Sorry for such a long break between updates! Indie is doing well and enjoying going to work with us daily. He has been a very happy boy since getting home and we are all counting down the days until he is cleared for a wheel chair! He wants to run with his pack so much, but we still have about 2.5 weeks left before we see the vet. Thank you again to all of you who have helped support us financially and mentally. The sweetest boy is back home! Shaun has successfully expressed his bladder and our other dogs were so excited to have him back. 
Today we got to visit Indie once more and he was doing fantastic! He has been taken off of his IV pain medication completely and is handling it very well. There is some discomfort still, but that is to be expected. He was moved to a different ward for non-critical patients and unless something changes he will be able to come home on Monday 🥰
