October Friday the 13th ( imagine that.. 💀 )
I went to the clinic to get my HCG checked because I was getting positives pregnancy tests. I want to say maybe October 26th? I started to bleed and it wasn’t very heavy but more than I had seen during the time I found out.. after being in the ER for hours they told us we were possibly having a early miscarriage.. and said my ultrasound had looked concerning. I just kept getting blood work for a few weeks or so? and my HCG was going up so we were hoping for a healthy happy pregnancy! About November 7th they had let me know not much has changed with my ultrasound.. it’s really just the sac and no baby and no heart beat. She then let us know that surgery would be the only answer because if not treated it can be cancerous and or spread. So November 8th comes along.. I get my surgery and the Dr believed he had gotta it all… my follow up was November 15th… I was worried for this one because my stomach was hurting and I was bleeding heavy.. they did an ultrasound and the tissue / tumor grew back and or didn’t get it all the first time and was 5-6 centimeters and was pretty big! So we scheduled my 2nd D&C surgery on November 16th to get it removed and even had a new Dr remove it… he was confident he got everything! November 30th comes along for another follow up and I had let him know my stomach sorta hurts again but not as bad.. so kinda thought I was in the clear! He did an ultrasound and there were some tissue and what looked to be like clots but he was still very happy with the amount and we thought I was good. Monday December 4th comes around and I had let them know my bleeding was picking up and so they suggested I go to the ER so I had left work a little early.. i told them I should be back Wednesday like I was scheduled for!! I truly thought everything was fine so kinda thought going would be a waste.. they took blood and many ultrasounds.
The ultrasound showed a 5 centimeter tissue /clots in my uterus so we were unsure if I needed a 3rd D&C or go straight to chemo.. that yet to be determined.
My hemoglobin on the 30th was 11 and on the 4th it was to a 7.2! They didn’t know if I was getting that 3rd D&C and my bleeding was still heavy so they gave me a blood transfusion… 2 pints! And I needed to stay in the hospital to make sure my body didn’t react badly.. which thankfully it went well!! We met with Doctors and everything and they still didn’t know if I needed that 3rd surgery but later that night I was having big clots and the next day we did an ultrasound and the tissue was back to 2 centimeters like it was on the 30th!! 🙏🙌🏼
But chemo was definitely my only option.. they suggested to get a surgery to remove my uterus and ovaries.. which scared me but they said usually older people get it when they’re done having their baby’s and I truly hope 1 day to get the pregnancy I deserve 🙏.
But still had some choices of chemo and what I wanted to do and it was sorta late so they let me think on it.
We found out after talking more about it being cancerous and needing a CT to make sure it had not gone anywhere else… my CT showed 7 small nodules in my lungs and then ordered an MRI to make sure it wasn’t in my brain… that would have definitely impacted the chemo I would have chosen and the one they would have picked for me… so it’s good it didn’t spread anywhere else and the nodules are small..
Later that night I was bleeding some more so they gave me an iron transfusion and man did my body not like that!!!! My arms and legs were tingly and burning and felt like there was fire ants all over me! And my hands started to swell and got stiff and if I took a deep breathe I had a sharp pain… it was a rough night for sure!
Yesterday December 6th I got a picc line placed into my chest.. usually they go in through the arm but my veins are small so they needed to do it this way… we are hoping for a port to placed instead soon! It didn’t hurt but the thought of it and having this thing in my chest just made me break down… I think it’s the first time crying since finding out I needed that 1st surgery!
Going into this and finding all these things out you know cancer is a possibility you just don’t think it’ll happen..
I’m so thankful for my boyfriend, his mom and, my family for being there every step of the way 💜. I definitely kept to myself for the most part until I realized I truly couldn’t…. It’s a lot for me and my family to go through and I appreciate every prayer and every person supporting me 💪🏽💜.
Started my chemo treatment yesterday and will be doing it every 2 weeks for awhile.. please continue to pray as I have a huge journey ahead of me still.. it doesn’t go unappreciated and I am so so grateful!
I think I got about everything in this post! It’s definitely a crazy and bumpy road but I can’t wait for it to be over and to be happy and healthy 💜. Thank you again so much for all the love and support!!
