Hello! My name is Kat, and I am trying to raise money for a program I am trying to launch. My son, partner and I want to make foot soaks for essential employees that have worked through the pandemic to help keep our community keep going. We are just finishing up our first group. We made 400 foot soaks for all of the fulltime employees of Colorado State University in Housing and Dining services. I had planned on it stopping there, but Rocky, my son, said he wanted to try and do the entire Loveland and Fort Collins school districts. I don't have enough in personal resources to make this happen, but I want to be able to do this project with him. (Its uncommon to see a 16 year old wanting to spend a lot of time and energy on doing acts of service AND have the enthusiasm to match). I have held roles that would have called me to work in times of crisis, with 14 years in healthcare as a caregiver and CNA, and as an employee of Dining Services at the University. I have been so touched by the amount of strength, courage, will, dedication and love that these special people in the world have been able to pull from within to persevere and serve during these highly unpredictable times. We just wanted to be able to do something small to recognize their act of service. We have our next 2 groups planned for, but will keep it going as long as we have the funds to do so. Money donated will go to supplies for the foot soaks, packaging, time and gas to deliver. The amount of money that we are trying to raise is the amount needed to make the foot soaks for the 8,764 employees of the 2 school districts.
