I’m starting this fundraiser in hopes of getting some help. I am very aware that everyone is struggling, so if you can’t help by donating, you can help by sharing this with everyone you know. I am in need of help for bills that are lapsed and a few emergency issues that have arisen for home repairs. That in of itself is a long and complicated story, so I won’t be going into details. The issue is, you never really know how your life can be so affected without a vehicle. I’ve been without one for over 2 years at this point, and there are so many things that have suffered or been negatively impacted as a result. It’s been one thing after another that has just kept getting piled on an already very stressful financial situation. Not to mention, all of the health issues that I’ve been dealing with on top of everything else. Not being able to go to doctor’s appointments, has complicated things as well. And yes, I’ve tried local resources for help, but either it takes forever to get an appointment, you’ve got to fill out a ton of paperwork and provide so much proof of things, they’ve run out of funding, etc.
Here’s just a sample of some things I’ve been battling, so you’ll get an idea of why I’m asking for help. My furnace wasn’t working for a couple years, my water heater needed to be replaced, I’ve had plumbing issues (the sewer pipe has frozen twice) and all the issues that go with that. A lot of these things can be diy if you know what you’re doing, but it still costs money. If you have to hire a professional, it costs even more. Plus, I’m behind in my electric and water bills. Both are threatening to be shut off and I don’t have the amount I need to make the minimum to prevent that.
They say there are programs to help low-income families, but the process is a joke. And even after you jump through all the hoops, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be approved. Or if you are, the amount they give you is laughable. It’s come to the point where I am beyond desperate. If I don’t have my water bill specifically, paid by July 13th, it’s getting shut off. And my electricity not too far after. I’ve literally tried everything I can think of, and so now, this is my last resort.
