Hi friends, I'm writing to ask for your help to raise money for my friend Ellen to get her beloved restaurant up and running. Emmylou's was set to open in August of this year, but a series of hurdles have caused major delays and financial setbacks. Ellen has poured her heart into building out the space with two years of renovations, creating handmade finishes using entirely locally milled lumber, getting equipment installed, and all permits in progress. Many local community members have already lent a hand with construction and participated in community painting days. The building is ready for service and now we're hoping to raise enough money for final start-up expenses such as licensing fees, supplies, inventory, legal fees, insurance, etc.
Emmylou's will undoubtedly be a favorite for locals and if you’re just passing through, it will be the best hole in the wall you've ever stumbled in on in the rural western Sierras. Serving humble country cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients and highlighting local winemakers, cider makers, and brewers.
Ellen is a pillar in her community. She was voted in as president of the farmer's market and revamped it, making it a hot spot for folks to gather, support one another, and celebrate summer’s harvests and local fare. The farmer's market has been a huge success locally and Emmylou's will bring the same values to a new space in town. This tiny rural community is craving more places to socialize and connect.
It is Ellen's dream to finish what she started there and so many people want to see this through. Please help make this dream come to life!
