Salam Alaikum, may the peace and mercy of God be upon you.
Hassan Abu Ali is a paramedic and ambulance officer. He is based in Gaza, and has been working in civil defense as an ambulance driver throughout the genocide and before. It’s an extremely dangerous and difficult job - navigated a fragile cityscape with partially and completely destroyed roads and buildings. Bombs falling, snipers threatening - civil defense crews are vital to the civilian infrastructure of Gaza, so they are frequently targeted by the occupation. Hassan himself was targeted and injured while attempting to rescue people from underneath the rubble of a separate attack.
Hassan went back to work after recovering from his injury and continues to not only save lives, but support his dear family. He is married and has three wonderful children. All five of them were injured in a second attack and by God’s mercy escaped certain death.
On February 28, 2026 the occupation completely closed the entry points into Gaza, again, during the holy month of Ramadan. Prices doubled in a matter of hours, and will continue to increase until the crossings are opened again. Gaza is once again thrown into uncertainty.
For Hassan and his family, like so many families, this means more support is required to pat for everyday items like food, water, electricity, clothes, rent, medicine - everything. Please support the family today, so they may continue to survive through this genocide.
