Ashby and I have been married for 23 years. When we first got married, our circumstances were very different. We were both living overseas, far away from friends and family, and because of that, we weren’t able to have the wedding or honeymoon we had always dreamed of. Our marriage began with a simple courthouse ceremony, without Ashby’s family or many of our loved ones present.
Even though we didn’t have the celebration, we built a life together grounded in love, commitment, and perseverance. For over two decades, we’ve stood by each other through life’s joys and challenges.
Now, more than 20 years later, we finally have the opportunity to renew our vows and celebrate our marriage the way we always hoped we could—with our friends, Ashby’s entire family, and the people who have supported us along the way. This vow renewal isn’t just a ceremony to us; it’s a celebration of endurance, faith, and love that has lasted through every season of life.
Unfortunately, life has brought challenges that make this difficult to do on our own. Due to medical health issues, Ashby was forced to stop working. At this time, our household income comes solely from my cleaning business, which covers our basic living expenses but leaves little room for a celebration of this size. We’ve been planning slowly, paying for things in small portions, but it has become overwhelming—especially after learning that we won’t have financial support from family.
Asking for help does not come easily to me. I’ve always believed in working hard and handling things on my own. But right now, we truly could use a little help to make this dream possible.
We are currently about $4,000 away from covering the remaining costs, which include the venue, decorations, catering, photography, and a DJ. Any contribution—big or small—would be an incredible blessing and would help us finally celebrate a love that has stood strong for 23 years.
If you’re able to support us, please know that it means more than words can express. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing our story or keeping us in your prayers is just as appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for being part of our journey. 💖
With love and gratitude,
Elizabeth & Ashby
