Video Update:
Cynthia is still unable to see, so if you’re reaching out, please send voice memos instead of texts so she can hear your messages.
We’ve received estimates to repair her leaking roof and complete mold remediation so she can safely return home. The total cost is approximately $37,000.
She is unable to work and currently requires around-the-clock care. This next week, she will undergo another full round of daily IV chemotherapy, followed by two weeks of oral chemo. Once her levels stabilize, the next step will be a bone marrow transplant.
In the meantime, life doesn’t pause. Cynthia is still facing her mortgage, household bills, medical expenses, her children’s needs, groceries, and extended hotel stays during treatment that are not covered.
Because of this, we’ve updated our financial goal to continue supporting her through this fight against leukemia.
Every bit of support truly makes a difference.
Cynthia has already endured more than most people face in a lifetime, and continues to show incredible strength through it all. While she has reached some major milestones, the road ahead is still long and challenging.
On Saturday, she completed one round of chemotherapy and immediately began another. The coming days and weeks will be some of the most difficult yet. She has gone through many side effects from th chemo already. After chemo, the focus will shift to healing and praying for remission. A bone marrow transplant is on the horizon, and her doctors are encouraging people to register as potential donors. Even if you’re not a match for Cynthia, you could save someone else’s life.

Cynthia is also facing complications from her diagnosis. She currently has significant bleeding behind both corneas, leaving her with very limited vision. While this can be common with leukemia patients, recovery may take anywhere from 2–10 weeks.
After being intubated and immobile for 10 days, she has lost significant muscle mass, but her progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Just days ago, she had no movement. Now, she can hold her head upright, move parts of her limbs, and is being assisted into a wheelchair. Her strength is slowly returning, but she still requires help with basic daily tasks like eating.
Every single day, she is fighting forward. She is working with physical and occupational therapy to regain mobility, has undergone MRIs and EKGs, and will soon have a spinal tap to determine if the leukemia has affected her spinal cord.
Now pause for a moment, imagine having limited eyesight, barely being able to move… and still finding a way to laugh and joke. That’s Cynthia. That’s her spirit. And that’s why we keep fighting alongside her.
She still needs our support, our prayers, and our community.
If you’re able, please consider donating, sharing her story, or registering to be a bone marrow donor. We are also preparing her home for her return. Due to her condition, she cannot be exposed to mold or toxins, but unfortunately, there is currently a roof leak and mold present that must be addressed before she can safely come home.
If you are a roofer, mold remediation specialist, or can help coordinate repairs, your support would mean everything right now.
Thank you for continuing to stand with Cynthia during the most critical fight of her life. ❤️
Cynthia has Acute Myeloid Leukemia, we have been moved to City of Hope ICU in order to receive the best cancer care. She has been sedated and intubated and will not be woken up until her oxygen levels increase and they can wipe out her white blood cells but with doing that she has a struggle to fight the pneumonia as well as any infections. She has started chemo and the chemo seems to be helping slowly. She is in the most critical fight for her life right now. Please pray and help us support her and her kids. If anyone can beat this, it is our Cynthia.
A Week Ago, Cynthia Thought It Was Just Strep Throat. Now She’s Fighting Leukemia.
Just a week ago, Cynthia thought she had something simple, strep throat.
She had been sick for days and wasn’t getting any better. Like many hardworking moms, she pushed through it, assuming it was just another illness she’d recover from while continuing to care for her children and keep life moving forward.
But when the pain and exhaustion became too much to ignore, she finally went to the ER.
Instead of leaving with antibiotics, Cynthia received life-altering news.
After running blood tests, doctors told her something no one ever expects to hear: Cynthia has leukemia.
Within hours, everything changed.
She was immediately admitted to the hospital to begin urgent treatment. What she thought was a routine illness turned into the fight of her life.
Cynthia is a full-time working single mom of five who has always been the one taking care of everyone else. She shows up for her kids every single day, working hard to provide for them and keep their world stable.
Now, she’s the one who needs help.
Leukemia treatment requires intensive hospital care, blood transfusions, ongoing treatments, and time away from work. As a single parent, this means the financial pressure will quickly become overwhelming while she focuses on surviving and healing.
Right now, our goal is simple:
Give Cynthia the ability to focus on fighting leukemia without the added fear of how she will pay her bills or care for her children.
Funds raised will help with:
• Medical expenses and treatments
• Rent and utilities while she cannot work
• Food, childcare, and daily needs for her five children
• Travel and hospital-related costs
Anyone who knows Cynthia knows she is strong, compassionate, and always the first person to help someone in need. Now she needs her community to rally around her.
If you are able to give—even a small amount—it truly makes a difference. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser can help us reach others who may be able to help.
Let’s come together and show Cynthia and her children that they are not facing this fight alone.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support.
