Hello, friends. It's with real humility that I make a direct ask for help in such a forum. My family's only car needs $7,000 worth of work, but it cost less than $3000 when I bought it. So, goodbye, Camry hybrid - I sold it for $150 to keep from towing it again. I have no transportation at all to run errands for myself or my mother (who cannot drive and has frequent doctor visits and needs groceries), get to my church job and private students, and get Ella to school; she must stay with her mother until I can figure this out. I and other friends are looking for used cars. My credit is not bad, but my income is currently too low for financing. I do have a little over $1,000, and I am trying to amass enough for a car in the $2.5K - $3K range that would last until at least I can find full-time work. Thus, I am asking for help now. I feel like I've often been a bit of a "crisis friend", but this is a kind of Catch-22 need as without transportation I can't have Ella stay with me and I can't even apply for jobs that require it. If you can help in a small way, I would appreciate it forever. Thank you all.
