It's been a whirlwind for Bri, Ryan, and their boys.
Benson is their baby and goes with them everywhere they go. Wednesday Benson started with bad GI symptoms. Went to the vet, they chalked it up to be GI with all blood labs normal and only an elevated white blood count. Friday was not good, Bri brought him back to the ER vet. They thought just fluids to get him to turn the corner, and then things escalated. They updated him to critical condition, had to do plasma transfusions, things looked good today(Saturday) and going in the right direction. Drew new labs and liver levels are not improving. 8pm tonight the vet asked Bri to get pictures of mushrooms and post them on an international page for answers. It appears Benson may have ingested a mushroom of some kind. They are on their way to get Benson now (10PM) and transfer him to Ocean State Vet immediately as they are equipped to handle this type of poisoning.
At this point anything helps. This has been so incredibly stressful for them, they are in a constant state of worry. Thank you.
