Right now, my mom and I are facing one of the hardest moments of our lives, and asking for help is not easy for us.
We were already planning a move to Alabama together to start over and leave behind a toxic and unhealthy situation. One of the biggest reasons for this move is so I can be closer to my son. My Family means everything to me, and being closer to him is something I have been working toward for a long time.
We had been trying to save using both of our paychecks and do this on our own, but life hit us harder and faster than we expected. We were recently served with an eviction notice, and now everything has become extremely urgent and time sensitive.
At the moment, we truly have nothing left to fall back on.
I was injured and placed on workers compensation, and although I’m finally back at work on light duty, I still don’t have answers about my health and I won’t receive a paycheck until May 28th. We do have some money coming on May 28th and 30th, but it will not be enough to cover everything we urgently need between now and our move.
We are trying to raise funds for:
• A hotel stay until June 5th
• Gas and food
• A U-Haul for the move
• Temporary Airbnb costs once we arrive in Alabama on June 5th/6th
• Help covering our first couple months while we get settled and back on our feet
• Food and necessities for ourselves and our animals . Getting rid of them isn’t an option as they are emotional support for me.
• A post office box and basic moving expenses
I also have an interview for a work-from-home position that I’m praying works out once we get to Alabama, and I’ve applied for college there as well to try and create a better future. Unfortunately, financial aid will not come in time to help with this emergency situation.
We have no family to lean on besides each other. We are both trying our hardest to help ourselves and work through this with dignity. We are not looking for a handout, we understand we aren’t the only ones going through it, just a hand up during a really painful and overwhelming chapter of our lives.
We understand so many people are struggling right now, and even if you cannot donate, sharing this means more than you know. Every single share, prayer, kind word, and donation helps give us a chance to safely start over and build a stable future.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us believe that better days are still possible.
