Hello Friends of Annika!

As you may know SNAP benefits will not be paid until after the federal government shutdown ends. Like 1 out of every 8 Americans Annika is dependent upon SNAP and a local food bank for the majority of her groceries. Because of a dramatic increase in demand for services as a result of the government shutdown, the food bank has warned clients that the quantity and quality of food they can afford to distribute will decrease. Anything you can spare will help Annika afford food until the shutdown ends and SNAP benefits are resumed.

If you cannot afford to donate to this appeal please consider volunteering with or donating non-perishable goods to your local food pantry. Canned beans, peanut butter, dry pasta and dry grains are always in high demand at every food bank. Make sure your donations are well within their “best by date".

Thanks for sharing this message and please encourage your friends, family and neighbors to donate to or volunteer at their local food bank.
