Welcome to Boy's Specialized Medical Fund.
If you know Boy, you know he is the best pup in the world—he just happens to have more medical quirks than the average dog. He has been diagnosed with all four types of canine skin dermatitis, making him allergic to environmental triggers, specific foods, and even standard topical flea treatments and collars.
We recently had an unexpected flea exposure in our environment. For a normal dog, it’s an annoyance. For Boy, a single bite triggers a massive, full-body allergic crisis. He is currently dealing with an open tail-base wound, a severe secondary yeast infection, and an ear infection.
Because of his complex allergies, over-the-counter remedies are off the table. Following his vet evaluation last week, he requires a strict regimen of targeted, specialized veterinary prescriptions to heal:
Allergy Mitigation: Apoquel to stop the severe inflammatory itch cycle.
Systemic Treatments: Oral flea preventatives (as topicals cause skin reactions), oral antibiotics, and Diflucan for the yeast.
Topical Care: Medicated ear drops.
This fund is set up exclusively to cover the cost of his diagnostic testing, vet clinic visit, and this specific prescription order.
Thank you so much for supporting Boy and helping us get his skin back under control!
