Stop comparing. Start living in joy. “Through His Eyes” shows every girl she is enough—and brave enough to share her gifts.
My name is Mira McClure, and I am a stay-at-home mother of three young children. Before I was married, I went through an extremely dark time of anxiety, fear, and depression, much of which was fueled by my addiction to social media and the constant comparison it created.
I know what it felt like in my early 30s—when social media was just beginning to gain traction—to be stuck in comparison and have it slowly steal my joy and weaken my faith. During that time, I made a promise to God that I would use the gifts He had given me to help other girls not fall into that same trap.
A few years ago I reached out to another mother, Lindy Kerby, who has a beautiful gift for creating faith-based music. I had written a poem over 12 years ago about true beauty in God’s eyes, and together we began turning it into a song. As we worked on it, I felt strongly that the focus should be on comparison—how we get caught in it, and how we find our way out through God.
Just this last year we reworked the lyrics specifically for teen girls, creating an anthem to help them lift their eyes from their phones and begin seeing themselves the way God sees them.
Thanks to several generous early donors, we were able to professionally record and mix the song, and it will be released on all streaming platforms in the coming weeks.
Our next hope is to create a faith-based music video featuring local Utah teen girls and their unique gifts and talents. The video will show how comparison can sneak in and steal joy, but as the girls turn to God, they begin to see themselves and each other as children of God with their own unique gifts and talents to share with the world.
We believe music videos have a powerful impact on youth, and we would love to make this a community project that uplifts and strengthens teen girls.
We are seeking $2,000 to fully fund the music video, which will help cover filming locations, production, and editing. Every contribution helps bring this project to life and allows local teen girls to participate in a message about faith, worth, and joy.
We especially welcome local Utah families and businesses who would like to help support a project uplifting teen girls in our community.
We are hoping to film the video in the coming months so it can be released while the song is still gaining traction on streaming platforms. Raising these funds soon will allow us to secure filming locations, production equipment, and include local teen girls in the project. Every contribution helps move this message into the hands and hearts of the girls who need it.
As mothers, we feel this message is needed now more than ever.
Our hope is that “Comparison to Joy” becomes a reminder for girls that when they turn away from comparison and turn toward God, they can rediscover peace, confidence, and joy.
If this message resonates with you, we would be so grateful for your support—whether through donating or sharing this project. We feel God placed these words and music on our hearts and would love for this message to travel as far as possible.
