My name is Lydia and I am a graduate of 2026!
I'm looking for financial assistance in order to attend Martin Luther College and this was one way suggested to me. I was told by some friends that if I started a sort of "go fund me," people looking to support gospel ministry would love to help fund my attendance at MLC. I'm currently limited on finances so anything you give will really help me. (I know the goal says "1,000" but I won't complain if more or less is received. I just had to pick a number.) My family has been good stewards of the blessings God gives, but with ten members in our household living on a single called-worker-income, my parents are unable to provide extensive financial support. I've spent the last four years attending the nearest Lutheran high school and come home on most weekends. Because of that I've been unable to do a lot of work. The work I have been able to do is cleaning our small church on the weekends. I work really hard and it has been such a blessing to serve my church in this way. However, it is not enough to help support my attendance. So thank you for anything you give, and if you can't please share this with others!
I have been blessed with many opportunities for experiencing gospel ministry! This has included leading a student Bible study group at my high school, serving as a teacher in our church's outreach program, and many personal witnessing connections to encourage those who need to hear the gospel. Many have pointed out to me the gifts for ministry I've received and are encouraging me to use them further. I feel confident that God is leading me to bring others closer to him. I wish to continue to grow in my faith as well as the sound teachings MLC has to offer. It's something I hold very dear in a world so confused. I hope that because the Lord has blessed me, he would also make me a blessing to others.
I am pursuing the staff ministry course at MLC and wish to one day teach at a WELS Lutheran church. If we're really talking ambitious, I think it would be so cool to also start a coffee shop or gym in connection with a church and let it grow as a source of community, connection, and direction toward Christ. I've been spending a lot of Sunday afternoons at a local coffee shop studying my Bible, preparing the next Bible study, or just simply doing homework, and I've realized what an outreach opportunity a christian coffee shop could become. Whatever the future holds, I know it's in God's hands. (In other words, it's gonna be awesome!)
God bless!
