MARCH UPDATE
The weeks after surgery were hard & heavy ones with family going back home (after being with MG for 2 weeks) and trying to navigate the grief, everyday tasks & figure out what "normal life" was supposed be like now with MaryGrace having 1 arm & on them being back on their own. She had lots of doctor's appointments, scans, tests & follow ups. Just because her arm & the large tumor were removed didn't mean she was out of the woods with cancer yet. Her PET scan on February 18th showed: that the tumors in her lungs had grown & there were lesions on her T7 & S1 vertebrae. They took this news hard especially having just gone through a hugely life altering surgery! They have been told that radiation or surgery for the lungs isn't a viable option & chemo for sarcomas really do not have good long term outcomes, so really their only way forward at this time is alternative treatments, which is what they have already felt called to pursue.
They have decided to go to the Oasis of Hope clinic in Tijuana Mexico for cancer treatments. It will be at least 3 week of in patient integrative cancer treatments. They flew out to the clinic this week on Wednesday, March 12th, & will be there at least through the end of March. The treatment plan is 3 weeks of inpatient treatment, 3 months of at home protocol then a 1 week follow up after the 3 months.
I will continue to post updates here but if you would like to see more daily updates you can follow Jacob and MaryGrace on Instagram, their account is @mg.and.jacob
This season has been so hard for them in every way but they are so thankful for all the love and support, prayers and encouragement. So thank you so much!!
