Elephant Nature Park, located in Chaing Mai, Thailand is home to over 5,000 animals and over 600 dogs, of which 40 are handicapped and or special needs.
There are a few dog runs currently at the park, however we are in need of more, to accomidate the ever growing dog population.
By helping us to raise funds to build 3 more dog runs, this will allow approximately 27 more dogs, to have their own special place to call home, as each dog run can accomidate 9 dogs. Over time we hope to add more dog runs, as space allows.
Each dog run consists of a fenced in grass area, which allows the dogs to be able to play and run around freely, preventing them from getting lost or injured.The runs will also include a sleeping hut, providing them with a protective roof and shelter to keep the dogs dry in rainy weather and allow them to sleep comfortably and safely at night.
One of our new dog runs will be devoted specifically to handicapped and special needs dogs. This dog run will have a special ramp for them so they can easily access their hut and our deam for them is to some day,have the first of it's kind, dog therapy pool at ENP ! We will have to work on that ...we hope that you will see another campaign for this, in the near future !
