a fellow Ortho-Bionomist is in dire need of new wheelchairs. 23 years ago, Mike & a friend were driving from Iowa to Minneapolis to help a friend move, going through Minneapolis in the middle of the night when a car T-Boned the car they were in. Mike’s friend died in the crash. Mike was taken into emergency heart surgery at HCMC. During surgery they found Mike's spinal cord injury. Mike is paralyzed from the mid-chest down. He lives his life in wheelchairs. Last Thursday his power chair quit working. He is using a manual chair, however, the manual chair has some problems: the brakes don't work, and it is too low for Mike to transfer himself into bed. He is working with some other friends to see if someone can barrow him a manual chair that meets his needs better.
Would you all help me gift Mike two new wheelchairs, built specifically for him, to make his life a little easier. His wheelchairs need to meet his specific needs. And, to add to his problems, his car needs repair, and his flip phone is on its last legs.
Mike was studying to become a chiropractor when the accident happened. He is a brilliant man. He is funny, courageous, humble, and has a great outlook on life. His moto is "adapt or die".
