If you know Alecia, you know she is the kind of person who never asks for help. She is the one who shows up for everyone else, even when she is carrying more than anyone realizes.
Today, she needs us.
As a single mother, she has always worked hard to provide for her daughter and her family. Then came the devastating words no one ever wants to hear: "You have breast cancer." Since then, she has endured a mastectomy, countless doctor appointments, and the physical and emotional toll that comes with fighting this disease. While the surgery was a major step, her battle is far from over. She now faces at least five years of ongoing cancer medication, follow-up care, and the uncertainty that comes with every new appointment.
Yet through it all, she keeps going
She continues to work whenever she is able because she has no choice. The bills don't stop simply because cancer enters your life. And when she comes home, there is no time to rest. She is also the primary caregiver for her father, who is ill and depends on her for daily care. Even while facing one of the hardest battles of her life, she continues to put the people she loves before herself.
No one should have to choose between paying medical bills and focusing on healing. No one should have to fight cancer while worrying about how to afford treatment, medications, or everyday expenses.
