HI, I'm Summer:) I am moving to Nicaragua in August! Whether you have seen this day coming, I've never even met you, or you're somewhere in between- I'm glad you're here:) I am going to Nicaragua to help with some ministry opportunities. The organization I am helping with is called REAP Granada and they have asked for extra hands and I said "YES!" This means working on the farm, teaching English classes, sharing the gospel in the city, and so much more! I will be working with youth ministries, prison ministries, and fingers crossed learning some Spanish! This is an unpaid position and I will be support raising for my time spent there. I am looking for people to support me financially! But even greater than that, I am in desperate need of people to intercede for me through prayer!! I am excited to see God move through this process and year spent in Nicaragua. More than anything I pray His glory is made known through this! If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to me:)
I've known I have wanted to do missions long-term since I was a sophomore in college. I didn't know what that meant, but I always had so much peace about it! Being the anxious girl I am, peace is a huge deal to me. I believe that it comes from the Lord only. I graduated from Texas A&M in December of this past year! I spent the next semester working at an elementary and studying up on missions. There were many times that I tried to convince myself to fit the mold of the American Dream and looked into jobs here. I did this for a few weeks and got to the point of a pretty bad anxiety attack. This anxiety attack lead to me questioning my entire purpose here at all and ended up with me on my knees in prayer. I got the flu a few days later and was big time sick on my couch. A friend of mine, who I just so happen to have spent the summer prior working with and teaching her all about my heart for missions, walked in my door. She told me about how she knew a man with a ministry in Nicaragua who needed help. I said "yes" and have been in awe of the peace and certainty that the Lord has provided me with through this process. Pray on your knees people! Cry out to God. He hears! He provides!
THANK YOU for taking the time to read this and support me:)
