Support Artivism: Empowering Communities Through Art & Activism

Our Story:

Hello! We are Isaac Alicea (Business) & Joshua Hughes (Mathematics) two proud, recent graduates of Howard University, fueled by passion, purpose, and a deep belief in the power of art to drive change. Together, we’ve launched Artivism — a community-driven startup that promotes social activism through artistic expression.

At Artivism, we believe that art is more than creativity — it’s a powerful tool for healing, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to create platforms for people, especially youth and marginalized voices, to tell their stories, raise awareness, and inspire action through various artistic mediums — from murals and music to poetry and performance.

What We Do:

  • Host community workshops and events that explore social issues through creative expression.
  • Provide FREE art and activism programs for kids, especially those from underserved communities.
  • Collaborate with schools, nonprofits, and local artists to build safe, expressive spaces.
  • Launch community art projects that inspire dialogue and action on issues like racial justice, climate change, mental health, and more.

Why We Need Your Help:

We’re just getting started — and we’re dreaming big. Your support will help us:

  • Secure art and music supplies and workshop materials
  • Rent spaces for events and exhibitions
  • Pay youth mentors, teaching artists, and facilitators
  • Expand our free programming for kids
  • Develop a digital platform for broader impact

As two young Black entrepreneurs, we are committed to building something meaningful that uplifts communities, empowers young voices, and honors the legacy of activism through creativity.

How You Can Help:

Every dollar counts. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your donation goes directly toward creating transformative art experiences and opportunities for those who need them most. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means the world to us.

We’re so grateful for your support and belief in the power of Artivism.

Let’s build a movement — one brushstroke, beat, and brave voice at a time.

With sincere gratitude,

Jus Josh & Icy Tides

Co-Founders, Artivism
