Hi, I’m Norman Rainey
In 2026 I’m racing my Yamaha YXZ in the District 38 UTV Pro Stock class. After some years struggling with mental health issues myself, I’ve chosen to do something that genuinely makes me happy which is to race off-road safely and responsibly and to use that journey to raise awareness for mental health.
Why I’m fundraising
To pass tech and race safely, the car needs specific safety gear and supplies. My Base Goal is $2,000, which covers the core D38 safety requirements with a small buffer so I can make the start line.
Goal stages
- Base Goal — $2,000
All required safety gear to pass D38 tech with a modest buffer. - Stretch A — $3,650
Radios for pit communication, a 7” GPS so I don’t get turned around in the desert, and basic spares. - Stretch B — $4,150
Awareness Branding Pack: professional green-ribbon decals, “It’s okay to not be okay,” and a small pit banner so the message looks clean and stands out. - Stretch C — $5,300
Reliability upgrades: spare wheel/tire, jack, pit canopy. - Stretch D — $8,050
Season-ready: race entries + license (events), shock service/fluids, critical spares, base-camp radio.
Note: Anything above my base goal goes towards helping keep me on the track, prioritize navigation, reliability, entries, and the mental-health branding.
Mental health mission
I’ll run a green ribbon, “It’s okay to not be okay,” and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline on the car all season to keep this conversation visible in our off-road community.
How you can help
If you can donate—thank you. If not, sharing this page helps just as much! Either way, you’re getting me closer to a goal that I will not give up on and helping spread a message that matters.
Never be afraid to speak what’s going on inside your head. Thank you to every person who took the time to read. — Norman
If you’re struggling: In the U.S., call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you’re in immediate danger, call 911.
