On 3/20/24 Megan was brutally attacked by a dog while she was in her home. She was rushed to the ER via ambulance due to the obvious severity of her wounds and condition. Once she was there, it was determined she had fractured two bones in her arm, one being an open fracture. She also had a lot of traumatized tissue where the bite wounds were. She had emergency surgery that night to repair all of this and hardware was placed in her arm. The surgeon was optimistic with how the surgery turned out but warned that infection could definitely happen because of the nature of the injury. He also said that more surgery on the arm or wrist could happen in the near future even if infection doesn’t happen. She recovered well and remains fairly comfortable in the hospital. She should only need to be admitted for 2 nights, so hopefully she can get home soon! We fear she will have to overcome many challenges with her recovery including getting back to work. Unfortunately, she does not have health insurance, so any help is appreciated more than you know. We all love Megan very much and know that she’s such a special person, just want her to have some sense of relief from this horrible situation.
Update: Megan has been so moved by all the support and kind words of her community, friends & family. We thank you so much for everything you all have done for us so far! She was discharged from the hospital 3/23/24 and will be staying with me and her sister for the time being. She is doing pretty well but continues to be in pain. She’s very traumatized from what happened but has a positive outlook for her recovery. All the very kind words she has received have helped her maintain that. Thank you again to everyone ❤️🩹
