Jonah, was my older brother and so much more. Everything from being a major influence in helping me raise my two boys, to the dearest friend you could ever ask for, he is irreplaceable. He believed family came above everything and would do anything for me or our oldest brother, no matter what. Jonah was always the protector, the friend you could always call on, and he would show up. His friends were his family, through so many struggles. He fought his battle with addiction and won—he kicked its ass! After a life time of wrong turns, he was finally on the right road. After years of refusing the idea of being a husband, he found a beautiful woman he was planning to spend his life with. Yet it was all taken too soon from him.
Jonah came home in December after two years of being incarcerated. He spent his time letting go of years of anger, opening his heart, building a relationship with God, and rebuilding broken relationships with his family. Even through the heartbreak of losing our father while he was gone, he kept pushing to be better. All he wanted was to come home and be there for his family. He knew his little sister and nephews needed him. He came home with nothing more than a plan, and less than two months later, he is gone. I have no words to express how losing my brother has turned our world completely upside down. Our parents have passed, our oldest brother is mentally ill, so that just leaves me.
I am asking for anything to help give my big brother the celebration of life he deserves and to help with the cost of his cremation. Your support will help ease the financial burden on me and my two boys as we navigate this loss. Thank you for considering helping us honor Jonah's memory.
