Dearest Family and Friends,
As many of you know that our sweet daughter Sloane has had challenges medically and academically since she was 15 months old, and once she was released from the hospital, we thought our lives would go back to “normal” but we entered into a new normal that has included an array of therapies, pediatric & cardiology care & tutoring.
Sloane is vivacious, loving, spirited and creative, smart, funny, and “lets it be known”. The list of attributes can be endless. However, she struggles with behavior regulation, academics, social challenges, she’s has been diagnosed with having High Function Autism, dyslexia and possibly ADHD. Her decline is academics has left her self-esteem in school in ruins.
Recently, Sloane was accepted into The Briarwood School, which is a premier school in the country for children with a broad range learning differences and learning disabilities who have average to above average intelligence. We accepted the contract and applied for tuition assistance, but once COVID hit school funding became minimal, thus leaving us with a higher cost than anticipated. We’ve tried to transfer to schools within our district that would better support her needs and have been denied for 2 years. We do feel that The Briarwood Wood School would help her reach her milestones, and increase her academic skills, and strengthen her self-esteem and motivation.
We write to you all, to solicit funds to help us cover tuition cost for one year at The Briarwood School. The school will provide her with social skills classes, occupational therapy and tutoring and tons of support, which will lighten our load as a family. Please help reach our goal of $6000 by donating anything from $5 and up.
