Summary
On 8/28/2026, UAPB Campus Police received directives from the FBI to search the dorm room of honor student, Zyon Boles, after an Instagram story he posted 14 hours earlier triggered their system. NO WEAPONS OR PLANS OF AN ATTACK WERE FOUND. Zyon, a dedicated second year college student, band member, son, brother, and friend, has NEVER been in any legal trouble or reprimanded in school, is facing jail time for “terroristic threats on a mass level."
Background Info
Zyon has a passion for music that stems from a family of singers and musicians. He was raised in the church and has been singing and playing instruments since before he could talk. He loves music that uplifts and has a positive message. He has never been a huge supporter of Rod Wave due to the heartbreaking and depressing message conveyed in his songs, so he and his friends have had a long-standing joke about his music.
On the night of 8/27 after completing his classes and band practice he retired to his dorm and his roommate was playing Rod Wave. They exchanged jokes, laughter, and posts were made and shared amongst them and other friends. Never in a million years did they think a joke would derail his future.
WHAT WE NEED
Zyon’s bond was set for $100,000, and $10,080 to walk. In 2024, Arkansas ended financing on bail, so the full amount is needed. His mother faced many health issues and surgeries this year and had to stop working to tend to her health as well as still provide for Zyon and his two siblings aged 2 and 3, one of which has special needs.
WHO HE IS
Zyon is a 19-year-old computer science and engineering major in his sophomore year at UAPB on a band scholarship. He has never been in a fight, arrested, gang activity, or any trouble. Standing at 6’5” he is a gentle giant who still enjoys collectibles, action figures, anime, and being with family and friends. Nothing about our friend, brother, son, or grandson is violent and it was all a big misunderstanding.
Zyon’s parents found out from a screenshot of his mugshot posted on social media at 4:10pm, nearly 8 hours later. His mother is in Chicago, and his father is in Arizona. As a college student, 19 or not, he should have been able to call home for help instead of them finding out through social media.
We are asking for any assistance and positive attention to this matter to get him back in classes and on the field where he belongs.
