Among the victims of the recent disaster in Turkey, none are having more difficulty accessing life-saving assistance than the Roma, members of the country's most marginalized community and the Dom refugees from Syria living there.
My personal contacts who are Roma community activists and are on the ground in Turkey can use all the funds we share to get food, medicine and urgent provisions to those who are facing discrimination when turning to the other aid distribution centers.
If you're seeing this, you know me. You know I've been in refugee camps and worked directly in humanitarian aid and that I often rant about corruption and accountability in international aid. I can vouch for the people who'll handle our donations.
