Hi, my name is Randolph but most people know me by Randy these days. I’m a soloist with the Oklahoma City Ballet and your favorite bartender at Broadway 10 Bar and Chophouse. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit.

A few days ago, I fainted without warning and fell face-first onto concrete, resulting in significant facial injuries. I gotten 20 stitches across my lip and gums, lost a tooth, and chipped another. The physical pain has been intense—but what’s been even more difficult is the uncertainty that followed.

Since the fall, I’ve been in the hospital for several days while doctors run tests to understand why I fainted. In one of the scans, they unexpectedly found a mass in my head. Right now, we’re waiting on more information, more scans, and more decisions about what this means and how to proceed.

It’s been overwhelming, and while I’ve only shared this with close friends and family until now, I’ve realized I can’t face this alone. Between medical bills, upcoming dental procedures, and time away from work, the costs will quickly piling up. I’m asking for support—whether that’s through donations, kind messages, or sharing this with others.

Anything helps. Truly. And I’m incredibly grateful for your love, prayers, and support as I navigate this unexpected chapter.

Lastly, I want to thank my lovely girlfriend Leah for taking care of me and staying with me in the hospital. I love you so much. And to the few friends I did tell that I’m here, thank you for coming to visit and bringing me smoothies, shakes, food, and most of all company. You all have make this crazy thing feel so much more comfortable with you all by my side.

With love and gratitude,

Randy

P.S.

For full transparency, the goal amount is a completely arbitrary amount right now. Once I get the bills and a better idea of what all the costs will be I’ll adjust and update the page.

Fundraiser Updates (5)

Hi everyone, it’s me this time for the update. It has been just over a month since surgery and the last update. Last week we had an appointment for the lab results on the tumor and we were given insight into what the future holds for me. All great news! The tumor is between a Choroid Plexus Papilloma (Grade 1) and an Atypical Choroid Plexus Papilloma (Grade 2). There wasn’t enough tissue to definitively say it’s one over the other, but the doctors are favoring the Grade 1, which is the least aggressive form. This type of tumor is very rare and accounts for less than 1% of all brain tumors. The full tumor was removed by my neurosurgeon, so that brings my 5-year overall survival rate to 95-100%. Tumor recurrence with this type most commonly happens only for Grade 3. With all of the information that we have, moving forward I’ll only need periodic Brain and Spinal MRIs, no other treatment. Yay!

My 18 staples were removed two weeks ago, and a lot of my headaches have gone away. I’m fully off of all of the medications I was prescribed post-op. I started physical therapy last week for my head and neck mobility. It’s been a challenge, but progress is being made. Since surgery, I have had a 15lbs weight restriction which ends next Friday. So I’ll be able to gently ease my way back into exercising and taking barre again soon.

Thank you to everyone so much for keeping up with my journey. I know I haven’t responded to many of your messages, but just know that I appreciate you and I will be responding to all of them soon.

If you want to continue reading, I just wanted to give a general update on not only my physical health, but my mental health. It’s a hard subject to talk about, but I feel like it’s also important to share.

This is the longest I’ve gone without any physical activity, probably in my whole life. I’ve lost 20lbs in the last month. I say this to be fully transparent on how my physical health has affected my mental health lately.

I’ve always been comfortable in my skin and confident, but recently I have been feeling deconditioning anxiety and mild body/muscle dysmorphia. Losing so much weight and muscle has caused me to feel physically weak and tired, discontent with my physical appearance, and anxious about the journey back towards peak fitness. I hope this is something I can work through once I’m able to get physical activity in. If you or someone you know has any experience in this area, I would love to hear about it.

Sending everyone so much love 🫶🏽

Hi everyone! Surgery was a huge success! If you haven’t seen Randy’s social media post today, here’s what it says:

“Sorry for the lack of updates, this is the first time being on my phone since surgery.

Surgery was successful, and I got an MRI that will show us everything the surgeon got out.

Those results will be in about a week from now.

I have 18 staples in the back of my neck and head. My neck is as wide as my head right now.

Nausea from the anesthesia and procedure itself has been awful. I've thrown up more times than I can count and sleeping hurts.

I'm back home, but no visitors till I feel better.”

Recovery is going to be a long and difficult process. Randy is being so unbelievably strong and taking everything like a champ. His surgeon Dr. Graffeo is amazing. He came in to Randy’s hospital room to check on him and let him know how the procedure went, and then said everything again to Randy’s mom in Spanish. We’re so blessed that we’ve had an amazing team working with us so far! I will update this page again once we get the results of the MRI and the biopsy of his tumor.

We’re so close to the funding goal! Randy’s 29th birthday is on July 1st, so please consider a birthday donation for him!!!!!

Thank you all for your love and support!!! We feel it!!!!

Leah here again coming with another update! We were able to get a telehealth appointment with Randy’s neurosurgeon today, and he had some good news for us! The small mass by Randy’s pituitary gland turned out to be a cyst, so we don’t need any treatment for that, and the larger tumor is very likely benign!!! The neurosurgeon says it’s still a good idea to have it surgically removed. If it does grow, it has the potential to “clog the bathtub” because it’s right next to where the spinal fluid is produced. They think Randy passed out in the first place because of that reason. We also have an appointment with the college of medicine dean at OU, who is a neurosurgeon from Harvard. He is the one who put together the team at OU. This is mainly to get reassurance about our treatment plan with our original doctor. We’re definitely leaning towards having the surgery on the 26th, but if anything changes you’ll know here!!

Randy’s sponsor at the ballet, Susan Brackett, was able to call in some favors for his dental work. He just finished getting a root canal on his front tooth, and he’s going to get a temporary crown in a week. The overall swelling on his face has gone down significantly, and his stitches have started to dissolve and fall out.

Despite all this good news, he’s still suffering from intense neck pain. The doctors don’t have any explanation for this, so they’re assuming it’s from the initial fall. He’s been taking it very easy and resting a lot, so hopefully it will get better soon. Every day is a small step forward, though!

We’re both so grateful for all of the continued support. Feeling the love!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi everyone, Leah again! Just coming on here to share some small wins- Randy has been able to stand up more today, his swelling has gone down a lot, and the pain from the fall and the spinal tap is slowly diminishing.
Thank you again to everyone who has sent messages, prayed, come to visit, and donated. Everything is still up in the air right now treatment wise, but as soon as we get updates I’ll add them to this page. Much love 🩷🩷

Hi all, Leah again! Just got our discharge paperwork, so we’re going home today! Updates scheduling wise— our follow up visit with the neurosurgeon is on June 18th, and the tentative surgery is scheduled for June 26th. Regardless on if Randy needs surgery or not, he will definitely need chemo and radiation. We’ll find out his exact treatment plan on the 18th. Just wanted to clarify that for people who have been asking!
The amount of people reaching out and donating has been incredible. Thank you all so much again!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
