I have a heart for medicine!
At five days old, I underwent emergency open heart surgery to treat my congenital heart defect: Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return. Living with a heart condition, I learned the importance of heart health at a young age. It wasn’t until I became a Paramedic where I noticed that most people don’t realize the importance until it’s too late.
Thankfully, the American Heart Association strives to help people live heart healthy lifestyles and reduce their risk of heart disease. The Miss America X American Heart Association partnership help raise awareness for the leading cause of death - heart disease, creates a Nation of Lifesavers through Hands-Only CPR training, and amplifies stories like mine!
With your support, we are able to empower people to lead heart healthy lifestyles, pioneer new medical innovation, and prepare people to step up in an emergency like a cardiac arrest.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generous donation to support this partnership and nationwide effort to end heart disease!
